Our Approach
We happened upon the Mini Nubian breed while looking for a friend for our myotonic wether, Oliver. Who doesn’t love pendulous ears, Roman noses and all those colors? But the full size Nubians were simply too big for our barn. The answer…Mini Nubians. As an added bonus, they have such friendly personalities.
We could not ask for any more endearing qualities in a goat
than what we found in the Mini Nubian breed.
AS NEW MINI NUBIAN BREEDERS, WE ARE STRIVING FOR BREED CONFORMATION AND CHARACTER WITH AN EYE FOR FUTURE MILK PRODUCTION.
When building our initial herd, we paid attention to pedigrees and looked for goats with proven milk lines on both the dam’s and sire’s side. Our herd is young, but we wanted to ensure we were starting with quality goats that would lead to good milk production. Personality and friendliness are important to us, so all our goats are handled routinely and have become part of our small farm family.
Herd health is a priority and we spend time learning from a number of sources to ensure that we are adopting best practices in keeping our goats healthy and happy. All our goats are MDGA registered and we test annually for CAE, CL and Johne’s. We are happy to report that we have a clean tested herd.
